Importance Of Salaat
Salaat is the second pillar of Islam and it shouldn't be ignored. Five times a day, we are obliged to do it and we can't leave it for any reason whatsoever. There is severe punishment for ignoring the five times prayer. If we are sick, we can avoid Fasting - there will be no punishment. If we are poor and we have no money to give Zakat, there is no punishment. If we cannot afford to go to Haj, there is no punishment. But for leaving salaat - there is a severe punishment.
What is between belief and disbelief is the leaving prayers. So there is no way, no excuse for any sick person, for a person with or without money. He or she has to pray five times a day. The sick person who can't pray standing, can sit and pray; those who can't pray sitting, can pray lying down; those who can’t pray lying down, may pray imagining prayer movements.
It is clear Salaat has to be performed no matter what is your condition. Of course, there are exemptions for those of unsound mind and women - during their menses.
Oh Muslims don't avoid giving importance to salaat.
Prayer Protects Against Evils: "Recite that which has been revealed to you of the Book, and perform Salah. Verily, Salah prevents from lewdness and evils. And indeed, the remembrance of Allah (by you) is greatest. And Allah knows what you do." (Holy Quran 29:45)
